There are a just a handful of places where you can dine on the beach side of front beach road with the beach, gulf and sky as your backdrop. One that is a definite value is the Barefoot Beach Club.
We arrived just before sunset and the all outdoor deck was mostly protected by a plastic covering, which was a nice shield from the cool breeze yet still gave us an amazing view.
The food and the place in general were very casual. Think burgers, sandwiches, salads.. that sort of thing.
My boyfriend had the Seafood Cobb salad with gulf shrimp and lump crab meat, tomato, bacon, egg, peppers on top of iceberg lettuce. It was quite large with a generous amount of seafood on top for just $10.95.
I had the Fish and Chips. It wasn’t a huge portion of fish but it was enough and for just $9.45 I got the fish, fries, hushpuppies and a side of fruit which I requested in place of cole slaw.
The service was quick and friendly. Our server, Mary was very gracious as was the manager, when I stated that my fish was overcooked and dry. It was quickly scooped up and taken away and a new helping, cooked perfectly, was delivered to me promptly. Mistakes happen everywhere and what matters most is how it is handled and these folks took care of me. And I was fine, I was enjoying my view!
You will find the Barefoot Beach Club at 15405 Front Beach Rd at the Beachbreak by the Sea Resort. Their phone number is 850-249-2031. They are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week and just reopened for the season.
