3 Restaurants at Pensacola Beach You Can Access by Boat

Places to Eat in Pensacola Beach

One of the greatest delights of a trip to Pensacola Beach is spending time out on the water. You are likely to work up quite the appetite with all of that fun in the sun. Rather than calling it a day on the water, there are a variety of restaurants that you can access from your boat. Here are three of the best restaurants on Pensacola Beach that you can get to while enjoying time out on a boat:

The Oar House

This popular local stop serves up a host of amazing seafood favorites along with classic American fare. The Oar House is conveniently located on Bayou Chico. When hunger strikes while out on the water, simply boat into the adjacent Baha Mar Marina. You can even fuel up your boat before heading back out again. This gathering spot features live musical entertainment, an array of happy hour specials, and a stunning deck overlooking the marina. Favorite menu items include the crab cakes, fresh fish sandwiches, gumbo, red beans and rice, paella, filet mignon and much more. Finish your meal with a slice of the tasty key lime pie. The Oar House serves both lunch and dinner, making it a great stop any time of the day.

Hemingway’s Island Grill

Billing itself as a casual tropical cafe, you will feel the spirit of the island while hanging out in this relaxed spot. A diverse menu makes it easy for everyone in your party to find something to satiate their appetites. Start off the table with an order of Jamaican jerk wings and shrimp and crab spinach dip before moving on to the vast selection of entrees. The filet mignon is available with a variety of tantalizing toppings. Havana Harry’s pork tenderloin is served with a fresh mango sauce for an island twist. Or try the authentic arroz con pollo or the Cuban sandwich for a taste of Cuba. If you are craving pasta, be sure to indulge in the creamy Key West shrimp scampi. An extensive kids menu will appeal to even the pickiest tastes. Hemingway’s Island Grill is open daily for lunch and dinner and accepts reservations.

Red Fish Blue Fish

This lively joint always feels like a party. This dog- and kid-friendly spot is located on the Santa Rosa sound, delivering sweeping views of the emerald waters of Pensacola Beach. Nosh on specialties such as the hand shucked fresh oysters, alligator stew, fish tacos, burgers, shrimp and grits, and more. Fun and fruity cocktails present the perfect match for your day on the water. Once you get off the boat, you can also play some fun lawn games at this restaurant. You can hop online and add your name to the waitlist so that your table is waiting for you when you come off of the water.

Things to Know Before You Go

Before you visit any of these restaurants by boat, it’s important to make sure that you are aware of the laws and regulations for boats in Florida. For example, Florida does have life vest laws, so make sure to bring some and wear them while you’re on your way to and from the restaurant. Florida also prohibits driving a boat while under the influence, so make sure that you don’t drink any alcoholic beverages you might bring back from the restaurant while driving the boat on your way back.

Whatever restaurant you choose, you are sure to have a great time in this vibrant beach community. You simply cannot go wrong with any of these three restaurants, all serving up innovative fare with views to boot.
