A Beer Lover’s Paradise

Update: This restaurant is now under new ownership and renamed to Craft 850

If you love different types of craft beers, the new Fishale Taphouse and Grill will likely be your new favorite place to hang out in Panama City Beach.

My first impression when I stepped inside for dinner and a couple of beers was “wow, this is different”. The interior surprised me as something unlike any of the other taphouses I’ve visited and certainly different than any other restaurant in Panama City Beach.
The decor makes it feel a tad upscale but the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. While we waited for our table we enjoyed a couple of minutes by the inviting fire that is at the end of the dining room.
At the other end of the large, open space is the bar, with modern styled high top tables and stools. What is most impressive though is behind the bar. 60 different beers on tap!
The beers will always change but there is sure to be one you will enjoy. We had the Choklat Stout and the Crispin Cider. They were both amazing and I can imagine the Choklat (yes, it has a definite chocolate taste) on a chilly winter evening, the Crispin Cider outside on a hot summer night. The cider was much lighter than many of the ciders I have had in the past. We enjoyed both very much and look forward to going back for more and giving some of the other brews a try.
The grill menu ranges from burgers and sandwiches to steaks, with something for everyone. I had the burger.
I think the burger was one of the best I’ve had, hand pattied, juicy and delicious. I had mine topped with bacon and melted cheddar with a side of their homemade potato chips.
I think next time I will try the sirloin scampi. That sounds great!
The owner has some great ideas for the restaurant and plans to add specials, beer tastings and a beer club.

Fishale is located at 7715 Front Beach Road. Follow them on Facebook to keep up on new beers tapped and menu updates.

I did return last night once again, had a Southern Pecan beer which was great! In addition to another Crispin Cider. I also got the chance to try the sirloin scampi and it was delicious. Fried oyster appetizer was also very good!
