Fresh Raw Oysters – Lowest Price on the Beach!
Update: Costs have changed. Please see the menu for up to date pricing.
There are many places you can find raw Apalachicola oysters in Panama City Beach. And pretty much anywhere you go, they are priced under $10 a dozen, served up on a tray with crackers, lemon and sauces of your liking. This is a bargain to a California girl, where raw oysters can cost double that or more.
The lowest price I’ve found for all day every day oysters on the half shell is at Sandbar. This relatively new seafood house and deli is located on Highway 79 near the Y. There have been a few names on this building over the last few years but I wouldn’t be surprised if Sandbar is finally the one to put that location on the map and stay for the long haul.
Of course, not everyone likes their oysters raw. There are several different baked varieties for just $2 more per dozen.
In addition to the oyster selection, you will also find steamed shrimp and crab legs, gumbo and a soup of the day, salads, boars head deli sandwiches, crabcakes for just $6.99, 10 chicken wings for just $6.99 and much more. When I last visited I tried the Shrimp and Scallop dish, which was a very hearty serving for $11.99.
These are not winter prices, these are regular menu prices. The Sandbar has the right idea; serve simple high quality food at a very affordable price, serve it in a casual, fun setting and provide great service.
Located at 275 S. Hwy. 79 @ the Y., you can dine Monday through Thursday 10am -10pm, Friday and Saturday 10am – midnight and Sunday 11am – 10pm.
